Bhanu Banerjee's performance as a comedian is unmatched in this subcontinent. Even today various dialogues of Bhanu Banerjee are heard in people's mouths. He was called the king of Bengali comedy. Based on Bhanu Bandyopadhyay's popular film 'Jamalaye Jeevant Manoo', a full-length film named 'Jamalaye Jivant Bhanu' is being made in Kolkata. 'Living People of Yamalay' 1958 film. 

Today is Bhanu Banerjee's 101st birthday. On the occasion of this day, the film 'Yamalaye Jiwant Bhanu' has been announced. The script of the film has already been written. Written by Krishnandu Chatterjee. Directed by Sayantan Ghoshal.


The film will also have iconic scenes and dialogues from the popular Bhanu starrer. And Tollywood star Shaswat Chatterjee is playing the role of Bhanu in this film. Shaswat was earlier seen on the big screen in the role of legendary director Hrithik Ghatak, Mahanayak Uttam Kumar.


Bhanu Banerjee was born in Bikrampur (now Munshiganj) in Bangladesh. He was not only an actor but also a singer. He acted in more than 300 films. His film journey began in 1947 with the films Jagaran and Ghalda. Bhanu's last film was 'Shorgol'. He died on March 4, 1983.
